MAGNETS: THE ESSENTIAL ELEMENT | 01/02

Permanent magnets. Sustainable power.

Magnets are essential to nearly all the leading-edge electric technology the world depends on every day, from electric vehicles to MRI machines to wind turbines to robotics.

How does it work?

Magnets are used to create energy and motion in the electric motors and generators that power our society. The more strength a magnet contains, the more energy and torque a motor can produce, which improves overall performance and efficiency. It’s what enables an EV to go 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds or a wind turbine to harvest clean energy. And Noveon’s rare earth magnets — the EcoFlux — are the strongest, most sustainably produced permanent magnets commercially available.

SUPERIOR MOTOR PERFORMANCE | 02/02

Maximum output: How permanent magnets improve motor efficiency.

High-power applications rely on high-energy magnets to achieve maximized output. Our EcoFlux magnet products perform better across all attributes, displaying increased temperature resistance, thermal stability, higher resistivity and corrosion resistance — resulting in more power, more speed and more efficiency.

And they lead to better performance in electric motors:

Efficiency

Most importantly, permanent magnet motors are extremely efficient, converting over 90% of electrical energy input into mechanical output.
